Sixth Annual Trainee Luncheon
On June 25, 2026 members of the executive and senior leadership teams hosted the sixth installment of the annual trainee lunch. This is an event designed to check in with the trainees (recent college graduates who are hired and afforded the opportunity over a one year period to try different tasks, learn different technical and soft skills for professional success. This gets done by actively listening to their experiences to include “the good, the bad and the need improvement areas” and with intermittent performance feedback, coaching sessions and mentoring opportunities as well as attendance at conferences and workshops. A number of graduates from the one year traineeship were on hand and they reported on their journeys and “lived experiences” as they have settled in full time professional positions in Human Resources, Administrative Services, Social Services, Finance, and Psychology. As one executive said a few years ago, “the trainee program is IRI’s secret weapon for professional development and workforce planning”. If you are or know a recent college graduate, please call our Human Resources office at (718) 805-6796. We are currently working a new cohort (12 spots).
