114. DISABILITY ACCOMODATION AND THE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA) AMENDMENTS ACT OF 2008

IRI’s policy and practice is to comply with the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) Amendments Act of 2008 and ensure equal employment opportunity for all qualified persons with disabilities.

The ADAAA defines a “disability” to be construed broadly, to the maximum extent permitted by the terms of the ADAAA. An impairment is a disability if it substantially limits the ability of an individual to perform a major life activity as compared to most people in the general population.

IRI is committed to ensuring non-discrimination in all terms, conditions, and privileges of employment. Reasonable accommodation is available to all employees and applicants with a qualified disability, as that term is defined by law, including work site accessibility, as long as the accommodation doesn’t case undue hardship on the agency. Individuals must contact the Human Resources Director concerning any accommodation request.
