IRI Annual Board Meeting
On March 19, 2025 IRI board of directors had its annual board meeting during which it celebrated the one year anniversary of our flagship day habilitation program and our corporate office in Elmont. We had a lively discussion about how we remain true to our mission, how we ensure long term sustainability of the agency, improve the quality of supports and reflect on the recent growth created by the acquisition of 8 group homes (supporting 42 people) last winter. The discussion then focused on a number of capital projects to include 17 residential opportunities in Brooklyn and 7 in Long Island as well as the development of a state of the art day habilitation program in Woodhaven and the accelerated effort to completely rehabilitate the vacation home. Finally, there was review of the strategic plan which includes growing our agency by 25 people in our residential system and 100 people in our day services portfolio. This is based on the needs we have heard from a number of our stakeholders.
